Ray Adkins— local best selling author of “Into
Barboursville, Ky. to Destroy Camp Andy” and the following:
Diary of “ Zeke” Evans Barboursville Home Guard, The Battle of
Barboursville, Kentucky and “The Legend of “Eligius Yellowfeather”
and just completed in the fall of 2008 “School of the Company
Infantry Tactics of 1861” and “The 5th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry &
Artillery Regiment “The Orphan Brigade”. Ray and his wife Debra are
residents of Artemus, Kentucky. Ray is a Kentucky Colonel, a veteran
of the U.S. Army Vietnam, President of the Battle of Barbourville
Inc. member of the Daniel Boone Festival Committee. He is currently
employed by the Knox County Board of Education. Ray is currently
Colonel of the largest Civil War Infantry Re-enacting group in the
state of Kentucky with over 180 members. Ray has helped in the
downtown Civil War Park, Ray’s books center around Eastern Kentucky
during the 1860-1865 Civil War period.
