Book Summary of The Kingdom:

Though I have seen many corners of the Earth, I have considered Ireland my home since my first glimpse of her.  The rolling, verdant hills seem to hold a magic to which even I cannot compare.  This land holds mysteries that I feel no compulsion to solve.

I have seen the ravages of war; have experienced some of the most terrifying and sadistic things that man or demon could dream, and yet I was going through an “I’m bored” phase for about the seven thousandth time in my existence.

Rioghan has been trapped here on Earth since the fall of Lucifer.  He spends his days toying with the emotions of the lowly humans while his father, the High King, wishes for him to grow up and accept his royal obligations. When Rioghan meets Lily, the daughter of a famous opera singer, she is nothing but a shiny new toy to him. Lily has a very firm mind of her own, however, and can't be bothered by one more person professing undying love for her when they haven't even taken the time to get to know her. The harder she resists Rioghan, the faster he falls, until he realizes that she has become his reason to be.

I need to be with Lily; not in spite of her humanity, but because of it. It is not easy to find things that are more eternal than I, and when I do, I’m staggered by them.

Like this love I have for her.
